- My name is Kathryn Callahan, and I am an ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist in Odon, Indiana. With over 17 years of experience as a licensed SLP, I have provided tailored speech solutions to clients across various settings, including in-home, schools, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, early intervention, and teletherapy. I founded my private practice to deliver individualized, family-centered therapy for children and adults in and around Daviess County, Indiana.
- I earned my bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Butler University and my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Indiana University. Throughout my career, I have conducted speech-language, cognitive, voice, oral motor, and swallowing evaluations and provided treatments for all ages, from infants to seniors.

NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Therapy services take place in the client’s preferred environment! I offer in-home evaluations and visits, which are ideal for creating functional goals and carryover of skills. Therapy may take place at daycare, preschool, or in the Hometown Speech Solutions therapy space in Odon, Indiana. Teletherapy services are also offered, as appropriate.
SERVICES
SPEECH - LANGUAGE EVALUATION
A comprehensive assessment of communication skills including standardized testing, observation, and client/parent interviews to determine the presence and severity of communication disorders (speech-language delays, aphasia, dysarthria, voice disorders, stuttering, or pragmatic language delays).
COGNITIVE-COMMUNICATION EVALUATION
Assessment of cognitive skills (attention, memory, problem-solving, executive function) through interview, standardized testing, and functional tasks. Tailored activities to target real-world cognitive-communication skills for individuals facing challenges from conditions like brain injury, stroke, and dementia.
ORAL MOTOR/SWALLOWING EVALUATION
The evaluation of strength, movement, and coordination of facial and mouth muscles (lips, tongue, jaw) for speech, chewing, and swallowing. This assessment may include trials of different food and liquid textures to identify choking or aspiration risks and to inform appropriate swallowing strategies and recommended diets.
SPEECH-LANGUAGE THERAPY
Individualized therapy services to improve speech sound production issues (e.g. articulation, apraxia, and dysarthria), speech fluency challenges (e.g. stuttering), enhancing vocal quality, or functional language skills (expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language disorders, and aphasia).
COGNITIVE COMMUNICATION THERAPY
Therapeutic strategies to target essential thinking skills like memory, attention, problem-solving, and cognitive communication skills.
DYSPAHGIA/SWALLOWING THERAPY
Treatment addresses improving muscle strength, range of motion, and coordination for chewing and swallowing through oral motor exercises. As appropriate, includes trials of foods of different textures and thickness, optimal positioning, and safe swallowing strategies.
